We are always happy to help.

Relaxed Performances

The Grange Theatre hosts a variety of community and professional productions. Due to the short run of some visiting shows, relaxed performances may not always be available.

However, our in-house professional Christmas production does offer a relaxed performance, clearly labelled on the show booking page.

What to Expect from a Relaxed Performance

Our Relaxed Performance is specially adapted to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for audience members who may benefit from a more informal theatre experience — including those with autism, sensory sensitivities, learning difficulties, anxiety, or anyone who would enjoy a more relaxed setting.
During this performance:
-
Sound levels are reduced, including PA and sound effects
-
All smoke and haze effects are removed
-
House lights remain on at a low level throughout
-
Stage lighting is softened to avoid bright or strobing effects
-
The cast introduce themselves before the show begins
-
Audience members are free to move, make noise, or take breaks as needed
-
Our team is on hand to support wherever possible
